A super fine and older Alaskan Eskimo Yupik pictorial basket dating from the mid to late 1900’s. The basket is very finely woven from natural beach and rye grasses, the striking multiple stepped patterns that radiate around the periphery designs in red, and purple from dyed seal intestine. The finial of the basket depicts a swan done in walrus ivory. This basket was acquired and is currently located in the USA. The basket is in excellent fine condition for its age with no damages or repairs noted. This is an excellent stunning finely woven masterpiece. This stunning complex museum quality basket displays very well and will make a fine addition to anyone’s collection.
