A very fine early Northwest Coast Nuu-chah-nulth lidded basket circa 1900. Very finely woven ( approx 30 stitches per/inch) from split cedar bark and natural dyed bear grasses to produce the stunning intricate designs that encircle the lid and periphery. The design is known as rolling logs and was a symbol of good fortune, long before it was used by the Nazi’s. A museum quality basket worthy of the finest collections.
