A very impressive fully imbricated Western Washington Salish Indian burden basket circa 1900. Finely woven from split cedar root and the striking fully imbricated designs from bear grass , cherry bark and horsetail root to produce the rare designs of human figures standing under and ovber mountain peaks. Very nice original condition with no repairs or breaks noted. This museum quality basket will make a fine addition to anyone’s collection.
