An absolutely stunning example from an early Tlingit Northern canoe dating from the late 1800’s. This form of canoe with its distinct prow is known to be a design specific to the Yukutat area. Beautifully painted with whale form designs in great early pigments of red, black and blue green. The canoe is very thinly carved, perfectly balanced and extremely graceful. One seat thwart is missing otherwise excellent condition. Museum quality example.
