Description: An unusual and charming early Tlingit carving whose purpose has been lost in time. The shape is reminiscent of soapberry spoons. The end is carved with the most charming little bear carved in the round with mouth open as if smiling. The shaft of the object is decorated with red and black lines and slashed. Some wear from use noted at the end of the blade. Very nice old patina throughout.
