Materials: Abalone Shell, cedar bark and root, natural and dyed bear grasses

Dimensions: : 5” x 3 5/8” x 2” H

Description: A very finely woven basketry covered abalone shell. The top surface of the basket is completely covered in basketry material showing a bright well preserved complex design featuring an oval pattern at the center framed in green, red and blue, red geometric open design , purple and yellow band of rectangles, pink and green band as well two more series of colored bands complete the design. . One can not help be in awe of the weaver’s skill to create a form of basketry so complex.  Note the very consistent stiches. This basket will make a fine addition to anyone’s basket collection and displays very well. A museum quality example.
