A fine early Haida argillite panel pipe featuring great well carved imagery featuring a Raven, raven eating a human , another raven, and a bear with extended tongue. Nice large size with great fine carving done in the round. The air intake is at the Raven’s head and the bowl lies just behind the bears head. The pipe is a first period pipe that dates from the 1830-1840’s and comes with a museum quality metal display stand. Condition is very good for its age with no restorations and the occasional tiny nick associated with age. A museum quality example.
