Very large Nuu-chah-nulth Makah Indian Finely Woven Basketry Covered Glass Wine Bottle

Description: A very finely woven large example of pattern basket woven over large wine bottle. The baskets surface is completely covered in striking complex imagery featuring two opposing Canada Geese with flying birds interspersed and then repeated. Bands of checker work designs and leaf patterns as well as colored bands complete this amazing basket This large basket has an impressive stitch count of 16 plus stitches per inch. Note the very consistent stiches. This basket will make a fine addition to anyone’s basket collection and is a museum worthy piece.
