Description: An early soapberry spoon or alternate use could have been a stamp for applying facial paint patterns displaying the crest of the individual during potlatch ceremonies. Old historic photos show Tlingit natives with facial patterns applied to their faces. This graceful spoon has a deeply carved raven and fish designs on one side. Handle is smooth with a fine aged patina throughout.
