Description
A great early Tlingit hand carved and painted cedar totem pole circa 1890. Traces of red vermillion and black pigments . All original , beak of the top hawk figure was carved and added on separately by the artist. small clean repair noted to beak at end.
Imagery is hawk, frog and raven transforming into human at the bottom. Nice large size and great sculptural details.
