A fine old Northwest Coast Tsimshian Indian hand carved and painted totem pole circa 1920. The totem is the work of the famous carver Eli Tait ( 1872-1949) from the Tsimshian village of New Metlakatla Alaska. The totem depicts a crane , thunderbird and a Bear at the bottom and is an excellent well preserved condition.
