Great expressive deep carving throughout . Painted in great old and original thick paint pigments. Signed faintly to the on the back wing ” Squamish Indian North Vancouver BC” . An illustrated totem by this carver which is housed in the Vancouver Museums collection is illustrated in Carvings and Commerce by Michael Hall and Pat Glascock on page 140 illustration #126. This totem is a very early work by this carver with great old crackled pigments and rich aged patina throughout, some small nicks noted to the ears of one figure is noted. The totem makes a great display item and a fine addition to anyone’s collection.
