Description
A fine old authentic Inuit Eskimo stone sculpture of a Polar Bear about to sneak up on a unsuspecting walrus. Carved from a beautiful natural green stone with lovely veining and striations. Note the delicate inlayed bone teeth and tusks. Executed by famed listed Inuit carver Noah Echalook (b1946-) from the remote arctic community of Port Harrison whose work has been featured in a number of important museum exhibits and collections. Signed in syllabics and numbered to the bottom the carving is in fine condition.
