A great early Haida argillite totem circa 1890 by one of the named early master carvers.  A stunning museum piece that makes a great display item.

Artist: Paul Jones (1847-1929) originally from the village of Tanu then settled in Skidegate.

Dimensions: 9”T x 3” x 2 ¾”

Description: A robust argillite totem depicting a beaver , bear eating a halibut. Great old original label “Indian Bazaar 43 Johnston St Victoria Bc ” label on back. The Indian Bazaar shop was one of the first shops selling Native Indian artworks in the late 1800’s.
