Description
A delightful early Inuit sculpture of three realistic Walrus resting on an ice slab. Each walrus has ivory inset tusks. They swivel on bone pegs to allow each to keep a watchful eye and looking in different directions watching for a whale or polar bear hunting. Carved from a beautiful deep dark green black stone with subtle natural veining. A masterwork of Inuit Sculpture. The sculpture is unsigned and unmarked as was typical of early Inuit works. The slab is 6″ x 5 1/4″ and stands 3 1/2″ tall and is in fine condition.
